A Step-By-Step Guide on How to Buy Cardano on Gemini
1. Register an Account and Verify Your Identity
First up, you need a Gemini trading account. During the registration, you will also complete a KYC check to verify your identity.
Start with the account registration form, and fill out the blanks, entering personal information that matches your ID.
You will then confirm your registration via your email.
Once you click “Confirm Email,” you can log in to Gemini for the first time.
Then you will be sent a code via text message to confirm your phone number.
The next step is completing your address details.
You must be above 18 to use Gemini. Your birth date should match your ID.
Finally, upload an official ID picture to the platform to prove the validity of your information.
You can continue with the ID verification via your phone: click on the secure link, take a photo of your ID, and submit it to the platform. Once it’s processed, the web browser will display your verification status.
2. Add a Payment Method
Go to your “Account” and select the Payment Methods tab from the panel on the left.
You can manually link your Gemini account to a bank account or add a debit card for instant purchases. Bank transfers are free and recommended but may take a couple of days to go through. If you are willing to wait, this is a good option.
However, if you want to buy Cardano right now, the best option is to use a debit card: unfortunately, there will be a processing fee of 4-5% involved.
Once you click “Add,” you can select the currency of your debit account from the list:
As you can see, Gemini supports quite a few currencies, including USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, and KHD.
Enter the billing address for your debit card.
Your billing address should not be a P.O. box.
Enter your debit card information and click “Next.” There will be test deposits to ensure everything is working as it should. The deposit amount will revert to you after you verify your card.
3. Navigate to the Relevant Screen to Buy
You can access the buy page through your “Market” tab.
You will see a list of all the markets Gemini offers. Find the Cardano market from the list and click “View Details.”
In the “How Often?” column, you can decide whether you want to make a one-time purchase or set up an automatic weekly or monthly purchase. The rest is pretty obvious: Enter the amount you would like to spend on ADA in the amount column. Of course, choose Cardano from the digital asset list.
Finally, pick a payment method. You can also add a different debit card.
After you click “Review Order,” you can check out all the associated fees: Then click “Confirm,” and your order is processed.
