1. Register an Account

Open the OKX website to register an account on the platform.

2. Verify Your Account

Hit the profile symbol on your homepage next to the “Assets” tab on the upper right. You’ll see an overview of your account. You can see several tabs here on top of your username. Go to the “Verification” tab.

If you are not trading on behalf of a company, select the “Individual account” box and hit “Continue.”

Fill out the information form and select the official ID type you want to upload to the platform. 

3. Deposit Funds/Crypto

Click on the “Overview” tab to make a deposit.

OKX doesn’t allow direct fiat deposits. You can deposit crypto to the platform or use third-party solutions and credit cards to purchase Solana and other digital assets.

If you have crypto assets on another platform or wallet, you can transfer them to OKX and trade them for SOL on the spot market. When you hit “Deposit,” OKX provides a wallet address to transfer your assets. 

Most beginners don’t have crypto on other platforms and must use other means to buy SOL. If you are in this camp, hit “Buy with Credit Card.”

4. Navigate to the Relevant Screen to Buy

The “Buy with Card” function allows you to purchase several cryptocurrencies with credit/debit cards. All you have to do is enter the amount of SOL you want to buy and select “Solana” from the asset list.

Hit “Buy SOL” to select your payment method.

 

As you can see, OKX supports several third-party payment methods, including Payoneer, Revolut, Banxa, Mercuryo, and Simplex. 

The best thing about having so many options is that, in most cases, you can use your national fiat currency to pay for your purchase. That way, you don’t have to pay extra fees for converting your national currency to USD or EUR.

After choosing a payment method, click “Verify.” OKX will send you to the payment processor’s website to sign in and complete your transaction.
