Even though DOGE doesn’t have a use case, it is quite popular and can be found on most crypto exchanges, including Poloniex. The coin is very cheap and pretty much worthless.

A Step-By-Step Guide on How to Buy Dogecoin on Poloniex

1. Register an Account

First, go to the Poloniex website and click “Sign Up” to create an account. 

Simply enter a valid email and a password to sign up. You will receive a verification code in your email address. Use the code to sign in to your account.  

2. Verify Your Account

You can trade on Poloniex without verifying your identity. Poloniex allows you to deposit and withdraw crypto without verification. You can also use third-party payment providers to buy crypto with fiat currency, but you have to comply with the KYC policies of those third parties.

Nevertheless, you can complete identity verification to increase your withdrawal limits. Click on the profile icon on the top right of the website, and select “Profile.”

On your profile page, you will see your verification level as “level 1” verified, which is true for all new accounts. You can see the limits of your verification level on the page, and there aren’t many. Further verification allows you to increase your daily withdrawal limit to 500,000 USD. 

Go ahead and click “Get Started” to increase your limit if you want, but you can buy DOGE on the platform without doing so, too.

3. Buy Crypto

You can buy select cryptocurrencies with fiat currency on Poloniex. Click “Buy Crypto” on the top left of your dashboard. Enter the amount of USD you want to spend and choose a coin you want to purchase. With this tool, you can purchase digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and USDC. 

Since Poloniex has USDT/DOGE and USDC/DOGE markets, it’s a good idea to purchase one of the stablecoins.

Once you enter how much you want to spend, select a payment provider. Providers vary depending on your country.

Review your order details, approve the terms and conditions, and click “Submit.” You’ll be taken to a new site to confirm your order and complete identity verification per payment provider rules.

4. Trade USDT for DOGE

In this step, you will swap your stablecoin for Dogecoin. Click on Trade on the top menu, and select “spot trading.”

On the new page, click on BTC/USDT pairing on the top left corner of the page (right above the graph) and search for DOGE. Pick a DOGE/stablecoin pair. If you bought USDT, you can pick USDT/DOGE.

Now all you have to do is to enter how much DOGE you want to buy (or how much USDT you want to sell) in the small box on the right side of the screen. When you are ready to place your order, click Buy DOGE.
