A Step-By-Step Guide on How to Buy Avalanche on Kraken

1. Register an Account on Kraken

Go to the Kraken website and sign up for an account.

2. Verify Your Account

Kraken requires you to answer a few questions and upload an official ID and a selfie to the platform. Verification can be completed within a few minutes.

Go to your profile or click the “Buy Crypto” tab on your homepage to get verified.

Answer the questions in the KYC form, ensuring your answers match your ID. Click “Continue” and upload an official ID document, such as a passport or a driver’s license, and a selfie.

3. Enable 2FA

Before you can fund your account, you must enable Login 2FA.

2FA ensures that others won’t be able to sign in to your account even if they have access to your password. Once you enable the security measure, you will receive a code to your phone each time anyone attempts to sign in to your account. Without the code, the login cannot be successful.

Click on your surname in your dashboard and go to “2FA Settings.”

Credit and debit cards can only be used for the “Instant Buy” feature (recommended for beginners) but if you want to be able to use “Advanced Trading” (Spot Market), you will have to make a deposit at some point.

Like the “Buy Crypto” feature, the auto-converter uses set rates to convert currencies. While the feature is marketed as free, the buy and sell prices include wide spreads (around 2%).

Using an auto-converter is very straightforward. Go ahead and select the currencies you want to swap and enter the amount you would like to convert. Kraken shows you how much crypto you will receive if you go through with the transaction. If everything looks alright, click “Convert” and you are done.
